Hello. This is is my first post on there... or on any forum for that matter. I have had a bad pill/opioid addiction for about 2 years now, starting when I was 19 (which makes me 21 now). I got up to taking about 30 a day. Norco, Vicodin, Percaset, Oxycodone... pretty much anything I could get my hands on. I am now doing Day Treatment @ Kaiser and the doctors there put me on Tramadol, Clonodine, and some Valium. I am doing okay on it except I still have a major craving. My mother and I got addicted around the same time and they put her straight on Suboxone (she has different insurance) and she says that she loves it. It does indeed work like a miracle drug. I am contemplating on getting on this drug and I spoke with my doctor and they said that they do not let us get addicted to it because of how they keep us under such close watch and manage our doses. I just need some advise on what I should do. Will the suboxone cure my cravings?
Thanks guys! rolleyes

Hello and congrats on getting help with with your addiction issues. Please note that this forum is for people that have and are living with chronic pain. We are not a forum that deals with addiction issues.

Perhaps you can get into some type of professional counseling and I suggest that you speak with your treating physician about any questions you have concerning medications. Good luck.

Do a search on your favorite search engine (Yahoo, Google, etc) for Drug Addiction Support Forum and you will come up with quite a few forum choices to help you with this issue if you are looking for some online help.

I do not have a recommendations about which forums are good only where to find them.

Good luck.

Hello,  the one thing I do know is if you take Suboxone its a narcotic too and would have to withdraw from that too....

Since this post does not really deal with Chronic pain, I have locked it for now, and will let Stray decide what to do with it.
