That's wonderful!...

When I used Cymbalta...it worked very well for my nerve pain..

The one thing I did notice was that it was also a cause of some of my insomnia...and I know that you have great issues with this...

So...I switched from taking it in the am to taking it right before bedtime...Because when I took it in the am...it seemed to kick in later on in the day and I would be more wired at night...

As well as compared to other nerve pain medicines..I actually lost weight with this medicine...

Also...as I'm sure your Dr. told you...it's not a medicine to take 'as needed'....it has to be taken the same time each day...and if you and your Dr. decide to go off it in the future...it's VERY important to taper down slowly....

Again...it's so great to hear some good news for you!!

Here it is friday and my pain after taking morning meds is at a 5 , so that is good for me.

I have cut back on vicadin intake. The cymbalta did the trick.

thanks for your support

Betsey, did your PM or PCD order the increase for you on this? We don't want you to run short at the end of the month. Sorry to question you on it, but I know you have had a tough time getting them to work with you, when you're pain levles are high.

Hopefully this will help bring the levels back down to a 5 or less. Most likley the knee replacement will help cure most of your pain problems....anyways we hope so! wink

Let us know if this helps!

Betsey...as I mentioned in my other post...Just be sure to work with your Dr. and figure out the best time of the day or night to take this medicine since it can cause insomnia and I know you don't need a single less second of sleep!!

Is the Dr. moving you from 30 to 60mg a day? I was on the 60mg pill just once a day...and as I wrote..it worked for me to take it in the evening since it would take about 8 or so hours to kick in for me..

I do hope that it continues to help with your pain...it sure seems as if it was working at the first dose...then doubling it now will have even greater results...

And I know I've written it before but it's very important...If you ever have to stop taking this...make SURE you work with the Dr. to taper down..

Good luck!!

Hi Betsey. I know you're having the bad pain in your hip now, but I was wondering if the increase in the Cymbalta is helping your knee pain any. I sure hope so now that you have the other pain to contend with. I'm sending you lots of healing (((((((((hugs)))))))))))

love and hugs
