I have been getting  out and walking and trying to be more active .Yet yesterday everything went down hill ,after a fairly long walk ,Icame home so sore ,went to lay down take pain meds and Istill don't feel good ,the pain on my shoulder is so bad ,I used the icy/hot patches ,even took a extra pain pill !I am forcing myself to get up and post and soon going to take a shower. The pain zaps my energy !Its funny most days Ican handle it ,yet Inever can tell when or what causes it to get so bad sometimes.I will be calling the surgeon tomorrow .Iam on disability now but what to go back to work ,my partener keeps saying wait till you have surgery which frusterates me because its taking so long ?then Ihave a few good days then pain like this stikes and I know Icouldn't even work parttime! I realize the surgery has on 70% chance of working ,but I can't imagine having pain like this the rest of mylife and being on pain meds ,which I don't like taking .Iguess in canada we have a pain clinic but you can only go there if there is no other options?Till then I have oxy cotin 20s and icy/hot  and days like today nothing works ?Ihope Idon't sound like Iam complaining too much and Irealize everyone here goes thur the same or worse ,yet Ifeel so alone at times .I wish Icould be out enjoying my life ,yet I don't even have the energy to get out of bed somedays.Does anyone else have pain that zaps the energy out of you ? take care thanks for being there from michele

Good evening Sore!

Well!….complain all you want…it's what were here for! You very seldom complain…and have such a positive attitude most of the time…..and I actually think you have a little fan club going on here as well! smilewinkgrin

It is a very common thing for pain to cycle….having better days,…. and then days that makes one wonder how were going to make it one more day. When that happens….hit the bed, and give that body a break. When in the world is that surgery you keep talking about? ….with a 70 percent chance of a good outcome….I would be chomping at the bit too! tongue

So…when you have good days…keep moving and stay active…and when the cycle heads downhill….take it easy, and pray through it. I also go through the same cycles, and you are right!…it seems like there is no rhyme or reason for it. It can be so aggravating….and lead one right into depression for a while….so be-careful when it happens…and feel free to stop by and do a little rant dance for us! yeah Well…I don't imagine your dance will look like that….maybe a little break dance? smilewinkgrin

Good luck, and we all do hope you get through this soon!

Take care!

sore42long I hope you have a better day tomorrow. I am in Canada and don't understand why you are having a problem seeing a pain doctor. I know the waiting lists for some are long but doctors can send them updates on the referrals and you can get bumped up the list.

I am having a major pain issue because my doctor is on holidays and his stand in would not refill my oxycodone instead gave me tylenol 3 that are causing more pain this time liver pain. Instead of getting up to do anything I am back to finding my cane and hobbling like I'm 80.

Take care
