Connie...Welcome to HW...I'm sorry to hear that you are having pain issues...
If you don't mind me asking a few questions..
Is the main issue inflammation with your SI joint? Or a strain?
Are you also on anti-inflammatory medicine to help reduce the swelling? Or going on a Medrol dose pack which are oral steroids? I would think the Dr. would want to do things as well.
For muscle relaxers...There are other choices besides Robaxin...That one actually did great for me when I was on it..But each of us are different. There is Skelaxin or Flexeril that are two others to try if after a few weeks the Robaxin is not helping you.
Is your SI joint pain caused by too much motion or too little? PT is very effective if it's from getting too little movement and getting stiff.
And then there is the Sacroiliac belt that is worn around the hips to help stabalize the SI joints..
And then doing daily yoga and stretching to help ease the pain as well.
Have you had any surgery for this yet? Or is the Dr. still wanting to do other non surgical treatments for now.
It's really like any other pain and finding the best combination of things to help manage the pain as one pill is not meant to take it all away unfortunately...
We are sorry that you found us because of pain...But it's a wonderful place to come and get support, care, concern, and suggestions to speak with your Dr.
I hope that you will come back and keep us posted on your progress..
