Hi everyone. I'm sorry I haven't been around as much as I'd like to be. This pregnancy is taking it's toll on me. I'm okay, and so far the baby is well, but I'm sick still a lot, and exhausted all of the time.

So, the other day at 4 a.m., I went to the kitchen to get a drink, and I'm standing there, and all of the sudden, I could feel every muscle in both of my legs. It was painful, but not piercing pain. No where near the severe pain I get in my upper back. At the same time, I felt like both legs were going to go out and I was going to fall down. I got my drink, and went to bed.

Then, today I went to the kitchen to get a drink...and when I put weight on or take a step with my left foot, I can feel pain in my backside, on the right-hand side.

I do have lower back issues. I wonder if this is from the pregnancy. I know I have disk problems (like 5 of them have had stuff going on), but I don't like getting new pain.

It makes me worry. I am resigned to living this way, with this pain...I have it for years now.

But, sometimes I worry that something new will happen with my back, or that something else is going on with me.

I guess that I need to be more positive...but I worry that I'm going to just keep getting worse.

Thanks!

And any ideas as to what that new pain could be would be GREAT:)

Oh...and please excuse my grammar/spelling, etc. My brain is mush.

Love and hugs,

Flower

Editing to add: As I lay here in bed, the lower part of my left backside is hurting me:(

Morning Flower! Just a quick post of support here, and a little information I found on the web. wink

Studies show that lower back pain in pregnancy usually occurs between the fifth and seventh month of being pregnant. In some cases, pregnancy pain in the lower back can begin as early as 8 to 12 weeks after becoming pregnant.

Women with pre-existing lower back problems are at higher risk for back pain, and their back pain can occur earlier in the pregnancy.

Take care, and be careful as well! We all are looking forward to a healthy baby!

I think SE is right on.  Are you on complete bed rest?  If not maybe should talk to you ob/gyn about that.  Have you asked your ob/gyn about the pain.  With pregnancy (even though its been 27 years since I was pregnant) I do remember having various random pains.  Although this was fortunately for me prior to my being disabled.  I would defitnetly ask you dr. and also your pm dr.

Good luck to you, the gift of a baby is always worth the pain.

Take care, hoping you are feeling well today.

No, I'm not on complete bed rest. Thank you all:) I also think that SE is right. Thank you so much for the support. I will ask my OB about it at my next appointment.

Hi Flower,

I remember when I was PG w/my daughter (abou 12 years ago) and had some of the same symptoms you describe. I was on bedrest for pretty much the entire pregnancy (but it was worth everything) and I do need to warn you and mention that you should talk to your Dr about back labor. OMG back labor is rough! I'm certain everyone does not have it, but if your problems are in the Lumbar area, you may want to consider the discussion. I'm positive they will understand what I am talking about.

You are in my thoughts and prayers!
