Hi Flower, sure hope you are doing ok. Would love to hear from you. How is the pregnancy coming along?

How many weeks are you? Do you have any names picked out? Like Michael said, I know it is an exciting time

but also know that you are having some difficulties with your pain. Post when you get the chance, even if you are not

feeling well. We all want to support you.

Thank you so much to everyone and to SE for starting this thread:) You are all so wonderful...and I can't even tell you how much I appreciate the support.

I'm okay. Pain has been high, but I'm doing the best that I can. No baby names yet. I have another ultrasound in a couple of weeks. It's an anatomy scan (and it's routine) to make sure everything is okay. I'm nervous about it, lol, as I am nervous about everything.

It's different...being pregnant with CP, because I am so extremely exhausted, but the pain wakes me up, and keeps me up.

I went back to work last week for a few days, and I don't think I'll be able to work more than a few weeks, if that. It's just too much. I get dizzy, nauseous, etc. Oh...but the nausea is TONS better, thank God!

I feel like I need to have more faith in God...to get me through, and to give me strength. The one great thing about going back to work that I never do when I'm not working is that in the mornings I listen to Christian radio programs on the way in, and really enjoy it, as I feel it helps me a ton:)

Overall I am dealing the best that I can. It's funny, because right now, things are so hard, but the ONLY thing that I am happy and excited about is this little baby. I can't wait to be a mother. I am still really nervous about that too, but excited about the joy that will be in our lives! It's still hard to picture, but boy, I want it SO badly. Oh...by the way, we are having a son!

Thank you again!

Love and hugs,

Wonderful! And congratulations on finding out it's a boy. That is wonderful news. I know you will be a good mother and all will go well. I will say a prayer for you.

God's blessings on you, your baby and your family.

Flower....

I haven't had a chance to post much.... but I've been watching this thread and was hoping to see a response from you. I've thought about you a lot and have prayed for your pregnancy.... your nausea (SO glad that's better!).... your pain.... all of that. So, I was glad to read an update.

First, congrats on your little baby boy. Obviously, I love boys to pieces; there is just something so special about the relationship I have w/ my boys. Little boys love their mommies, that's for sure. So, I'm happy for you - and that things are looking good w/ baby. Good luck w/ the scan.... I know it's *normal* to be nervous - especially w/ your first. But you'll be so happy to see your son squirming around :)

And you are right - there's nothing like the joy of holding your baby for the first time. You will be a really good mom, I just know.

Everything else - just take in stride. Re: work - it sounds like it is too taxing on your body. Your doctor will sign off for your disability right? You need to be taking care of you right now, above all.

Re: the pain - pregnancy can bring on pain just in itself - so add that in to a CP person - and I know.... I've been there. I've told you my story and that I had to continue to use a bit of medication; my doctors wanted me to use even more. I was so worried, of course. But it all worked out. You don't need to share if you are using pain meds or not; but if you have to - it's ok. My feeling is that the stress of your chronic pain is just as bad for baby as the use of a small amount of narcotics. Again, not all will agree. That's ok. But I've walked in those shoes and feel confident about that.

Are you feeling the baby moving? What do you think about that? It's amazing thing, huh? (and kind of weird, too!).

Please keep us posted on how you are doing - because we all do really care. I'll be thinking of you! --Tina

Congratulations Flower on your little boy. I know your husband has to be so proud. The first time I felt Jessica move, It was amazing. I didn't get to feel that with my other two pregnancies. It was awesome. Please keep us updated on how you and your little one are doing.

love and hugs

Congratulations on the sweet, sweet baby boy. <3 Mother's little angels, they are. But, then, I also have a girl that while she was very much daddy's growing up, she's now very much mama's. <3

Keep your chin up and enjoy this calm before the storm of motherhood. There's nothing in the world like it.

Pete, educ8athome, SE, Loretta, Tina, and Lindaloo,

Thank you so much! I cried again (lol) while reading your messages. I appreciate it so much!

Tina,

Yeah, my doctor will sign me off. I really thought I'd be able to work throughout, but even after a few days, it is just too much. I have felt movement three times, and it was incredible! I can't wait til I start to consistently feel him move. I am so looking forward to that! Thank you for keeping me in your prayers.

Thank you again to everyone for all of the kind words!

Love and hugs,

Flower
