Last week I managed to trip and fall and hit my head on the sidewalk, knocking myself out. Went to the ER for a head CT and X-rays and everything is clear, but I have a lot of swelling and bruising on my face where it hit the sidewalk, and I scraped and bruised my hand up pretty good.

This of course happened three days before my wedding, but thank god for the fantastic makeup artist who did my makeup. I think I was also running a bit on adrenaline for those three days - I didn't have much pain other than the head and hand pain from the fall.

Now that the wedding is over, I am REALLY feeling both the acute and chronic pain. My fibro is flaring, which I basically expected because the wedding was so much exertion, and I'm sure my impact with the ground is contributing. I'm back at work but working from home today so I can be comfortable in my recliner and use ice and heat as needed.

Hope everyone is as well as possible!

Well, first Congratulations on getting thru the wedding, so very sorry about the fall.
Did you get the ER report? head injuries can be very serious, maybe get in and
get seen by your pain management doctor or your pcp...Maybe they could possible increase
your medicines till you start healing, falls can be nasty, I've had quite a few this year,
but without the head trama, if your getting worse or get any headaches go to the ER. Please take care, I'm
worried and concerned about you...Sure hope your feeling much better very soon.
Take Care of yourself, and don't over do things at work this week....
Many Prayers, well wishes and healing hugz
keep us posted...

Thanks for your concern Chartreux. I see my PM on Thursday and my PCP next week. My PCP is currently my prescriber - I just have Tylenol #4 to use as needed plus Cymbalta and Naproxen. The ER gave me some Vicodin, and I've used it a few times, but I feel like my non-fibro pain is pretty well controlled. The fibro is another story, and I'm going to talk to my PCP about that!

I got a discharge summary from the ER and I'll also bring that to my PCP. I am actually feeling MUCH better than I was last Thursday - the headache is mostly gone and my hand feels better.

Hi Heather Congratulations on getting thru your wedding. I'm so sorry that you fell and hurt yourself. It's good to hear that you're ok with no concussion or anything. Be careful.
