Hello dear friends & Fam's, Well it's finally happened, it hurts too dadgum much to go fishin! I was planning to go out this week but I just can't, my lower back has been playing hell w/ me for a week or so and my feet & anckles which I mentioned in my last post were numb after getting up in the a.m. are now pretty much numb & tingling all day!
I have an apt. w/ my pain Doc this afternoon and hoping for some answers on the feet thing as my primary doc thinks it's nerves in my back causing it! I don't expect any help w/ the back pain though as he upped my methadone by one 10mg a day a couple months ago which might have helped, it's hard to tell when your going down hill!!! So upping meds is pretty much outa the question and since I've had every other form of help (P/T, shots, acupuncture, chiro> you name it> except surgery which I've been putting off for over ten years!

So for now, no fishing stories for a while!! It just figures, (watch out! Here comes the BIG pitty party!)>> just when it's gonna cool off and the fishing will be the best of the year, my fav fishing month> Red October> Redfish flood into the Nature Coast and are hungry and chowing down for winter!!! And> Grouper come in shallow to spawn and the season opens for 2 months on Gag & Red grouper! The schools of mullet (baitfish) are headed south w/ lots of preditors on their heels> Sharks, Tarpon, Kingfish, Spanish mackeral, Bluefish, Big Jack Creval, and my favorite gamefish of all> Snook.

Also as a 30th wedding anniversary last Sunday, my wife told me to go buy a new sal***er trolling motor!!! Mine has been broken for years and I couldn't afford to get it fixed! I told her thanks soooo much for knowing what I want/need more than anything to help me catch redfish & snook but new ones are crazy expensive!!!!!!! So I took my old broken one the other day to a dealership and asked him if they could fix it??? I got a call yesterday w/ an estiment of under $300. > New ones are $1000. and up!!! So I'm getting mine fixed and GRRRRRRRRRRR> won't be able to use it!!!! I shouldn't be like this and don't like myself for thinking stupid things but I'll tell Y'all anyway. I'm a member of a local fishing Forum here on the Nature Coast of Fla. I consider myself a pretty good fisher and do catch lots of fish but w/o a trolling motor to fish along the mangrove islands and coastline, I'm all but out of the ballgame when it comes to catching my favorite fishes!!! Other Forum members are always posting pictures of big redfish & evan sometimes snook but I seldom do and it hacks me off! I've fished w/ some of these guys and although most are nice guys, most are not great fishers, they just have the right equiptment! I can't believe I'm telling Y'all this, what a looser/crybaby I am!!! I better go get my testosterone level checked!!! Sorry everyone!> GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

I hope Y'all have a better day tham I'm having!

Love All Y'all!!!!!

Pityful Pete!!

Awe Pete,
you'll get another chance the year ain't over yet...maybe next week things will be better for you.
once you get your rod all fixed up, you'll probably be up to fishing...Sure would make your day if you
get your rod back and you had low pain levels, I wish that for you....I would say to hold off on the surgery still,
as once surgery always surgery...it ain't a cure all either, sure wish we did have a cure all...
So, what was your best catch (other than your wife) ? and did you win anything from your fishing? tell us..
Many well wishes to you....
Hang in there you will get to go out and fish...

Oh Dear~~~ What a bad word Mikey? I didn't know that if you put the two words salt & water together it created a bad word??? But if you say so!!! Sorry, I'll try to watch myself next time!!!
Chart & Sore-2-Long, thanks soooo much for your support! My good Doc gave me 12 trigger piont injections yesterday afternoon! I sure hope they help cause I feel like I have 12 tooth aches in my back this morning along w/ the same pain I already had! I sure would rather be fishing today! Thursday is usually my fishing day but no fresh fish dinner tonight! Oh well looks like chicken again!
To answer a couple of your questions before I get horizontal again> S-2-L, Yes I've tried Lyrica years ago when it first came out, didn't seem to help much tho! My Doc bumped up my Gabapentin to 3 x 800mg instead of 3 x 600mg yesterday, I duno about my back pain but it has been a blessing for the electric type shock tingle pain in my cervical spine which started after fusion surgery 2 years ago! about my lumbar problems> Dr. after Dr. has tried to get me into surgery for my back for the past 10+ years, heck it may evan be 15 years the way time is flying by!! I've always declined cause I've been able to deal w/ the pain w/ meds! I had no choise w/ my neck as I lost the use of my left arm and couldn't fish w/o it> Ha!
S-2-L good luck w/ your surgery, I'm sure you have your reasons for going that rout, we will be praying for you! I might not be far behind you if this numbness keeps up, thats how it started in my left arm!
Chart, my trolling motor is broken, not my rod! I have so many rods, I can't evan remember how many!!! I build them myself and have been doing so since high school! Datz a lota rods!!!! On winning anything for fishing, I never believed that fishing should be a compitition between fishermen and espesially friends!!! I don't allow it on my boat cause it always causes bad feelings! It causes you to want them to lose fish> what a horable thought!!! It also turns something I love dearly into work! When I'm out fishing w/ a friend in my boat, I'd rather see him or her catch a nice fish than catch one myself!!! I've caught plenty of fish in my life but to see someone else catch something they haven't caught or the biggest one every, it tickles me> I just love it!!! It also makes me a good guide & teacher!!! Good Stuff!!!
I have won some $$$ in the distant past but that doesn't mean much to me! I did write a story about catching a big snook on a flyrod I built and a fly I tied to a company that made the rod blank I used. They published my story and sent me a rod rack w/ their name on it for a prize! Getting my story & picture in their newsletter was way better than winning some dumb fishing tourny for me!
Bang>Zoom>Wizzz> Time to get horizontal now> Datz all from Peteworld!!
Love Yuze Gize!!!
Pooped Pete>
PS> Sorry for all the Whine yesterday!!!!

Awwww Petey, I wish you weren't feeling so badly. I sure hope all those injections you got yesterday will help

you. And also the increase in gabapentin. I was on 3600mg a day and it didn't help my pain. So you can still go

up on your dose if you need to before changing to another medication.

I sure want you to feel better so you can continue fishing cause i know how much joy that brings you and

how it takes your mind off of your pain. I know you aren't done fishing yet. There are tons of fish out

there calling your name. Wait till you see me catch a fish, you will laugh and it will bring you much much joy. LOL

I love you buddy. Keep hanging in there, one day at a time.

Miss you,
Suz.

I am finding the salt and water problem to be hysterical. I never thought about them causing a problem together. It took me a few seconds to see the objectionable word. I hope you feel better soon Pete!
