I have a headache everyday but today it is so bad I can not function. I take targin 20/10mg as well 2-10mg oxycodone for breakthrough and cymbalta, diabetes meds, sleeping meds and amytripoline. All these meds and I have a rip roaring headache. We have advil and tylenol in the house but the pain dr yesterday asked me if I ever take asprin and I don;t usually but today I really need some help here any suggestions?? Please??

I'm not sure what Targin is, but if you don't already take an anti inflammatory med, which you do not mention above, you can take advil for your headache and also you don't mention any products which contain tylenol so you can take it as well.

If you did take percocet, that is oxycodone and tylenol. But you are taking straight oxycodone.

If you are still not certain then you could call your pharmacy or doctor's office and ask them.

Hope you headache can lessen a bit for you today.

  Hello Grandma!

Was getting ready to answer you and I saw that Suzane gave you some very good advice already. Good enough! wink

Do call your PM or Dr and ask to make sure though...and check with your Pharmacy as well.

I'm thinking you are taking Percocet? Ocycodone starts at the 15mg I think...but as always I can be wrong. wink

        Take care,

      SE wink

Suzane thank you I am feeling so bad and foggy that never even thought about calling the pharmacy.
I am taking an advil enough of this extra pain it was the one that broke the camels back.

I had constipation issues with oxycodone so my pain Dr recommended targin which has solved that problem.
FYI
Targin 20 mg/10 mg prolonged-release tablets
Each prolonged-release tablet contains 20 mg of oxycodone hydrochloride equivalent to 18.0 mg oxycodone, 10.9 mg of naloxone hydrochloride dihydrate equivalent to 10.0 mg naloxone hydrochloride and 9.0 mg naloxone
Excipients: Each prolonged-release tablet contains 51.78 mg lactose anhydrous

SE thanks for taking the time to reply. I have had 5, 10, 15, 20 mg of oxycodone. I take 2- 10 mg in the morning 1 whole and 1 split so they get me started.

I know the headache is stress induced as my pain doc and I discussed my pain issues yesterday and he said he is referring me for surgery, good news I thought. My hubby had a total meltdown last night he is tired of being my support and suggested I move out.

Oh Rose, I am so sorry to hear things are rough at home. No wonder you have a headache! *gentle hugs* I think the others have wise advice for you, but I would just call the pharmacy to confirm. Pharmacists are such a great resource!

Hi Rose,
First of all, I am so sorry about how things are going at home. But I bet your husband is just feeling the stress and said something he didn't mean. I know mine has made many comments like that, too. Actually, so have I. I hope things have settled down for you and your headache has subsided by now.

I was looking at your diagnoses and meds. I was also going to agree with the Tylenol, but then I noticed you had fatty liver. Has your dr. said anything to you about not taking Tylenol or acetamenophen? Also, sometimes the NSAID pain relievers, like Advil, will aggrevate your GERD. I would suggest calling your dr. about this...and I also think he should know about your headaches. I would start with your pharmacist, though, as you will get a quicker answer. But do put a call in to the Doc.

I took a couple of advil and it helped, due to the tense atmosphere at home its probably high blood pressure. I know we all say things we don't mean when we are angry but my hubby and I do not argue so this caught me off guard. We are barely talking tonight so time will tell, we have 10 years together and were friends for at least 3 years before then. We usually talk things through when we are not mad so I guess maybe tomorrow he will talk.
