Hi everyone, thanks for being there. I'm writing on behalf of my dad who has suffered fom this condition for about 40 years. He had a 9 hour operation I think in 1970 and it helped for many years. However, a few years ago the pain started again. I suggested Botox treatment and he began with the shots on a 3 monthly basis about 2 years ago. They have provided no relief for him whatsoever. He is not immune to Botox as some people are as he occasionally has side effects. Every 3 months he gets his hopes up only to be dashed once agaain. I don't really know what I'm asking for here but I was just wondering if anyone had any comments about similar experiences or any advice about what to do. Many thanks, John.

Sorry to hear about your Dad John....

I had been told a had a bit of cervical dystonia from all my neck problems... I was constantly holding my head to the left.... Botox helped me tremendously.... perhaps he is not getting enough units...

I saw this recently on TV and thought you may like to see it... if you haven't already:

Hi Draka, thanks for the reply. I can't watch it in the U.K. but I think I've seen it before. My dad has just had his shots again in a slightly different place but the doctor said if it doesn't work this time he'll have to try something else. What he's thinking of I've no idea.
