Hi All:

I just talked to Kay's husband and he said that her surgery went real well. The surgery took about 1 1/2 hrs, they were expecting 2 hrs. Her jaw wasn't dislocated they were able to do the surgery w/o doing that. They also said that the lesion was benign but they will wait for the pathology report before saying 100% that it is. She also didn't need the drain from the neck

She was sitting up in a chair when he called, they were waiting to give her some juice and jello, before giving her more pain meds. Kay did have a complication with the eye gel they put into her eyes and then taped her eyes shut. She's got a lot of burning in the eyes. The doctor feels she's having a reaction to the eye gel and has ordered her other eye drops. She's having pain in her throat and neck but that was to be expected.

They may let her go home today or tomorrow at the latest. Her daughter and her husband are with her and he say's overall she's doing very very well. Kay thanks you all for you thoughts and prayers and she'll post as soon as she's able.

Kay my dear friend you know that I love you like a sister and I'm wishing you a speedy recovery. I'll talk to you as soon as you feel up to it. I'm glad this is done and over with for you. I know how worried you have been over this upcoming surgery. Take care my friend and let your daughter nurse you back to health.

Love you,
Barb

Hi again:

Here's an update on Kay, she's on her way home. The Dr. told them that he did in fact discolate Kay's jaw but it is back in place now. It seems that they put bad eye gel into her eyes prior to surgery. The patient that had surgery after Kay in the same room had the same reaction. They had an eye doctor see her and he said within the next 24 to 36 hours her eyes should clear up. I didn't get a chance to talk to Kay but her hubby assured me she was doing well.

Please keep Kay in your prayers.

Thanks,
Barbara

Thanks Barb for posting and your friendship and prayers!!! I also want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I'm doing well just taking it easy and recovering. My eyes got better by the day after surgery thank God. I'm having some swelling in my jaw and neck ,but thats to be expected and my jaw and ear are numb, hope that will improve as the swelling goes down time will tell. I'm still eating soft foods, hurts to open jaw to wide but for the most part things are fine. I should get the report on this tumor when i go back to my dr. on the 4th so i'll post after that appt. thank you all once again and i hope everyones having some lpd's. Take care all, Kay
