Hi Tuttie I have an older pump implanted and the PTM's were not available then. A very good friend of mine recently had a new pump put in and this time she got the model that that has the PTM. It is very helpful to her on the days when she has terrible pain spikes. They work very well for people also that say by 5:00pm every day their pain level spikes and the unit can be programmed to give a bolus at 5:00pm. The dr does all of the programming in his office after he decides how much and how many a day. It is a very useful tool believe me. Those devices cost $1,000 and if bought at the time of implant with most insurance companies pay for it. But if you wait and decide after the implant you want one, there is a good chance insurance will not pay for it.

I do ask if you have questions about the pump please start a new post so it can be seen easier if you don't mind. Try not to be so nervous about your trial, you will do fine.

I hope you have a good turkey day tomorrow. Take care.
