Hi everyone,
I have dealt with chronic pain in my neck, shoulder and back since Feb 06, the pain just keeps getting worse.. Not sure what to do anymore. My PM Dr. says im to young to be on stronger meds, im 23.
When i was 17 I wrecked a snowmobile going 90mph. Tore all the muscles in my shoulder. took the Dr. 2 years to figure it out(i had a very bad Dr.)  By then there was so much damage, the Dr. did the best he could to fix it. Have had 3 surgeries on my shoulder. Still on help.
Ive also had problems with my vision since birth. I was born with cataracts. they did find that out until I was 2. By then my right eye was legally blind. The left eye they were able to fix when i was 11, up until there I was legally blind. All together ive had 23 surgeries.. 20 on my eyes. Had to have the right eye removed on Sept. 23rd. Still recovering from that.. Having a hard time dealing with losing my eye.  Since having my right eye removed the vision in my left eye is getting worse.. Dr. said my brain doesnt know what to do since the right eye is gone.
Guess im just at a loss of what to do.. I'm kind of at the end of my ropes.  Any advice would be greatly appericated. Thanks take care all,  Kaila.

First Kaila, let me welcome you to the HW family.  I am nini/Kathy.  I am so sorry you are going thru so much at such a young age.  I hope you have better Doctors now, I hope someone goes with you to your appt. as 4 ears are always better that 2.
Good luck to you and again, make sure you and your pm doctor are on the same page concerning your meds or anything else.  If he/she is not, find another one, you have plenty of records, so make sure you get what you want.
Take care,

So very sorry about the loss of your eye, you are going thru a lot, but your doctor needs to listen.
You need to find another PM Doctor, I too get that you look to young and it is annoying.
If you could give us your location, many members here might be able to recommend a doctor
in your area...Many Prayers and well wishes to you....

Thank you both for your advice. I have tried to get another pain Dr. though our insurance only will cover the office i am going to.  I am going to try to get through to the Dr. on the next visit. These pain meds are not helping at all anymore. Just hope he will listen..
Went to my eye dr. today.. he said that my vision will not be getting better. will continue get worse..  Having my right eye removed wasnt susposed to affect the left eye.. He said that im the first patient he has had this happen to. Guess it is very rare.  Cant remember what he called it.
Was hoping for good news... hopefully it wont get as bad as he thinks.. guess I should be thankfull I have been able to see this long.  Take care all.

Dear Parsley...Welcome to hw forum. I think we may have spoke on the chat part of the forum. I am so sorry for the loss of your eye as well as the problems you are having with the left eye. I see you have darkened your font does that help you read better. I am not sure how to adjust the font so I could help you out.
I would definely insist on some better pain meds. tell your doc that you would like to have some quality of life no matter how young you are. If you want to e-mail me you are welcome to do so. I will keep you in my prayers.

Take care, Amy
