I'm sorry, but our rules forbid talk of "Suicide", and discussions of "illicit" drug use. I have posted the forum rule concerning your post here for you to review. I sincerely wish we could help, but we are not professionals in areas such as this, and it sounds like your friend needs emergency professional care.

Good luck to you both as you deal with this issue.

Thanks,

SE

RULES:

1. No discussion of any illegal activity or threats of violence (ie. illicit drugs, including medical marijuana, threats of suicide, self-injury, or physical harm). Discussions of suicide and self-harm are not permitted.

Hello Kitry!

Welcome to our Chronic Pain forum!

I admire you sticking by your friends side, and is admirable of you to do so. It must be tough seeing a loved one going through this, and I do hope he finds some help quickly.

I am sorry that I had to delete your post but we cannot discuss suicide on this forum, nor can we discuss illicit drug use either. However!…. I have posted some 1-800 help numbers here for you, in hopes,.. this will give you some resources to offer him. Of course,... some of the numbers are not useful to you, but I copied them from the Depression forum, that one of our wonderful moderators posted, so choose the ones that will be of most value to you and your friend. Please do call some of these numbers right away, as it sounds like your friend is having serious problems, and needs professional attention right away.

I feel badly for the both of you, but we simply cannot discusses these issues here.

Take care,

SE wink

Thank you for answering, and I am very sorry for asking about suicide - was desperate, didn't read rules properly.
as for illicit drugs - all his drugs are prescription only, he never broke the law, he is a chronic pain patient and has been one for a while after numerous failed surgeries.

anyway, te post is deleted - i guess i'm talking to myself lol
tahnks anyway:)

Hello Again Kitry!

I take it that the patient taking med's wether they are scripted or not…in a dose not prescribed by his Dr, in order to get a high is the same as illicit use. Sorry if I deleted something that the members could have helped with as far as chronic pain is concerned.

I can offer you the choice of emailing me the complete story, and I will visit with the other moderators, to see what portion of it we can post here. Just click on the email icon under my username to left of this reply.

We truly will support any patient who is suffering from chronic pain, and that includes you was well. So feel free to take advantage of my offer, and feel free to post an introduction of yourself as well. We truly are a support family for CP, and hope you will continue to visit us here.

It may be wise to review the rules here, and there is a post at the top of our home page listed as Chronic Pain 101….lots of good information there as well.

Take care,

I did go through the rules (twice) and now I understand that I was completely out of line with my question.
I am very sorry I broke the rules (thank you for stopping me), and wasted your time and efforts.
Pease know that I appreciate being a part of this forum and some day when I find time for myself I will come out.
Thank you again.

Kitry, it is quite all right and you did not waste my time at all. We all have broken a rule or two…even me! rolleyes

…this is very common and happens all the time with newer members, until they get used to the rules here on the forum. I do hope you came back to visit us and seek support for yourself. It appears that you are a very compassionate person, by reading your post about your friend.

You are always welcome here!
