I`ve been in quite a bit of pain today since I woke up, it`s been on and off all day. However, I seem to be doing ok, the pain is still there now but it`s not `full blown pain`, just seems to be lurking in the background lol. Another friend I have with chronic pain said with some medications he still felt pain but the difference was he didn`t seem to mind or notice it as much, which today I think is an accurate description for me. Perhaps since I feel calmer than other times it`s more manageable.

Tonight I`ve just stayed in bed all evening in front of TV, (there are definitely worse ways to spend an evening lol). It`s so nice being able to come on here and tell someone now when I`m in pain. I usually don`t tell anyone unless it`s at the point where I can`t hide it any more but it does really help just to be able to say it. Well I hope that everyone else is doing as ok (as possible) today. Thanks so much for the support I get on this forum. Love Di xxx

This morning I have awful pain. My legs are so heavy now, I feel like I have something weighing me down. I thought I`d come and vent now and hopefully get my mind off it afterwards. Hope everyone is doing ok xx

Right with you. Every day is different, some worse than others, and the best days it's sill in the background anyway. Different places, different levels, different abilities to cope with same stuff I did last time.
I hear you.

Hi Christina

Thanks for your message and understanding me. Yes, that`s exactly it, it`s different every day. I`m glad that made some sense what I wrote!

I`m in so much pain today, it`s just progressed as the day went on, I tried to sleep it off before woke up feeling just as bad. I am struggling today. I`m hoping to knock myself out soon with melotonin and wake up for a better day tomorrow.

I hope your pain is ok. Take care. Love Di xxx

So sorry Di! I was so happy to read your initial post that you were having an OK day, but then saddened that it quickly changed to a really bad pain day. Don't you just hate how that happens? It's so aggravating. I'm one of the lucky (being totally sarcastic) people that cannot sleep after I've taken a pain pill. It can make me so tired that I can't keep my eyes open, but I cannot fall asleep because they make my mind race. Even hours after I've taken it I can't sleep. I have to take mine with breakfast and then with dinner and if I take my dinner one too late than I am up too late. Totally stinks because sleep would be so nice when my pain is so bad. Sorry about that, just realized I turned this post around to be about me. Sorry! I hope that the melotonin helped and you were able to get some sleep and that you wake up feeling much better!
Love,
Hillary

Hi Hillary! Thanks for your concern. And please don`t apologise, it`s helpful for me to know what other people go through and it gives me a break from thinking about myself. It reassures me I`m not going crazy lol. Yes, it`s so annoying when you think you`re having a good day and then it changes without warning. I find it`s harder to cope with when it comes on suddenly than when I`ve been in pain for a few hours and I`m `used to it`.

I understand about pain pills waking you up, I often get that and my mind races and because I find that coffee kicks them in faster for me that makes me more awake, though I can usually sleep on coffee and pain pills. But sometimes they really wake me up, last night I had exactly the feeling you described, being wide awake but so tired at the same time! I`ve found melotonin is a lifesaver for sleep, it seems to counter the effects of being so wide awake and makes you nicely drowsy. It feels a lot better than taking stronger sleep meds or stuff like valium. I was glad I found melotonin as I panic about not being able to wake up on time due to taking heavy meds, once I slept way past my alarm and had to ring work and explain and after that I`ve been cautious. But melotonin gives you a light sleep and you don`t wake up groggy in the morning. Perhaps it would work for you.

Take care honey xxx Di
