an update: i went in for another set of x-ray and full blood workup two days ago. blood tests showed my sediment rate is elevated. he found what he thinks to be a tear in something in my right hip socket. i haven't talked to him personally yet, but my mom works in the same hospital so i got a little bit of the info. im going in to have an MRI of my hips to find out if he is right, and if he is i will need surgery as soon as possible. this hip issue would be the root cause of the problems in my spine. and once its fixed he said physical therapy would be much more useful for my back. the tear has been throwing off my stride for many years he explained, even if a small amount, over the 13 years ive had back pain it would do a lot of damage.

also i need a cat scan or MRI(cant recall which) of my throat, to rule out cancer. a previous x-ray showed something wrong and he said when he felt it by hand he didn't find anything, but he didn't not-find anything.
im not sure if ill be able to deal with having my back pain and possibility cancer

Wisco....

I'm sorry to hear that you have more health stuff going on. It's always very frustrating doing the "waiting game" and wondering what it could be. I'm glad you are having an MRI of your hip so that you can find out what is really going on. Do you have it scheduled?

Re: your throat - I have no idea about any of that.... but it's definitely something that should be aggressively followed up on.

Re: your sed rate - I often have an increased sed rate... this can be caused by many things, but it also can just mean that there is inflammation going on in the body.

Anyway, it's tough to be going through so much... but I'd encourage you to just to take one day at a time, and one thing at a time. Know we are here for you, too.

Take good care --Tina

Wisco, I too am sorry that you have more to contend with and are stuck playing the waiting game. With the sed rate - as Tina said, it can just mean that you have inflammation or infection in the body. I know it's MUCH easier said than done - I've had the wait for worrisome lumps too - but please try not to worry unless you find you have good reason to.

Thinking of you,
