I have pain under my right ribs radiating down to my stomach the pain as far as i can remember has been severe since last summer I have been to my family doctor he thought i might have an over active intestines so he but me on an anticholerginic to stop them from spasming that only made me constipated and did nothing to help the pain
Maybe a week after seeing him i was having the pain one morning and couldn't really pee i went to class and ended up leaving came home and laid on the group balling in pain my boyfriend came and took me to the er my urine was brown and they said that i most likely passed a kidney stone i asked the doctor is that why i have been having the pain all these months she said no they don't cause pain while they are in the kidney i then asked her to give me a ct scan because i wanted to know what the pain was im feeling nothing showed but kidney stones in my kidney which is hereditary and she said they don't cause pain again so i left with my pain being unknown
I was then referred to a gastrointestologist who saw for symptoms no more then five minutes and said i need a endoscope I talked to my doctor about having that procedure done and he said i should not because i don't have any symptoms of an ulcer or colitis since my bowels normal he then said we should look into my gallbladder i had a hidascan done and that came back with a 34% blockage and the doctor who did the scan wrote on the paper that it was chronic severe inflammation
My mom came to visit me at college after i got the results back from the hidascan and said we would go to the er and hopefully they would take my gallbladder out since we could not find anyone to get me in within weeks we go to the er and the doctor said that there is no such thing as a chronically inflamed gallbladder and tells me that i am chronically constipated without taking x rays or anything he sends me home with something to flush out my system and a suppository that night i drank the fluid and put in the suppository and hour later just a little liquid watery stool came out but nothing else extremely concerned why there was nothing coming out of me thinking I could have an extremely impacted stool inside of me we went to the er the next day they took an x ray and only saw gas so that ruled out the idea of me being chronically constipated they then showed my results of the hidascan to the surgeon in the er and said it needs to be taken out since it wasn't infected they did not take it out in the er but fitted me in the following week after my surgery i felt a lot better for a couple days then once i started getting up and walking the pain came back just as bad as before i had a cat scan yesterday showing nothing but some kidney stones in my kidney
I'm in nursing school for the past couple of months i have been almost consistently been been in pain like clockwork by the time i am brushing my teeth in the morning i feel the pain on my side by the time i get to class its hard to concentrate because of the pain most night i cant even cook my self dinner because i don't want to get out of bed the only the that helps the pain is if i lay down i have not worked out in over seven months i have gained 15 pounds i weight 140 im 20 years old i have a healthy diet the only thing is i don't eat that much protein
I have had nurses tell me that kidney stones can cause pain while they are in they kidney is that true?
Also i'm almost wondering if it is musculoskeletal i did get a massage and told the woman where my pain is and she focused on those areas it did not feel better until the next day but i was pain free for two day after that but then the pain came back
when my pain comes it is like a stabbing under my right ribs and my stomach on the right side by the belly button hurts lately i have been feeling pain in my right shoulder and lower back i have clinical two days a week where im on my feet for seven hours it gets to the point where my face will turn white and i feel like passing out ill start sweating that how bad it hurts and that happens every time when they pain come and im not able to sit even going to the grocery store for an hour provokes that pain The pain is basically just brought on by any activity i get it daily i spend most of my time in bed because i cant stand getting up and being in pain
im honestly desperate from someones help to figure out what is wrong with me not just a quick fix i really hope you can help
also now another doctor thinks it could be ibs or inflammatory bowel syndrome

Hi Kwood and welcome here. I've edited your post to give it a topic heading.

I'm not a doctor and I don't know if this is contributing to your problem- but I know that my Mum had chronic cholecystitis. She eventually had to have her GB removed but she does still get pain - especially if she eats anything - and I mean 'anything' fatty.

I hope someone else will have some suggestions - and better still that your doctors can figure out what is going on and relieve your pain.
