I have had Chronic Headaches since I was 15 years old and I am 18 now. I have these Headaches everyday they start as soon as i open my eyes it starts slow about a 3 on the pain scale and goes up to an 8 or a 9 every day. I have tried many medications such as Topamax and others that i don't remember. I have done massage therapy and the therapist gave up on me, i have done acupuncture and with no relieve. I also have nausea and vomiting with my headaches. Doctors seem to be at a loss. I have been to three different neurologists with no help, i have had many imaging tests done with no answers. Even though they have yet to check my hormone levels. I have also done pain management where they have done many shots in my back muscles and neck.
I am at a loss, I am tired of the pain and want relieve if there is anything you can suggest please help me out.

Hi JH and welcome to the chronic pain forum. I can relate to the headaches as I have migraines and know how those can make a person feel. It sounds very much like you have ran the gambit with drs. I do have nausea and vomiting relating to the migraines, which many people do.

I don't know where you live but have you ever considered seeing a dr at a headache clinic, that may be a thought. The other thing I would consider is being seen at a teaching hospital. The teaching hospitals are on the cutting edge of many new treatments that have not made it to the main stream and many times they find things that other dr drs don't or they overlook something. If you will look in the topic called CP101 you will find a list of teaching hospitals and perhaps there is one close to where you live.

It is really frustrating to have something going on and the drs not be able to give you an answer or a reason why something is happening. Just do not give up in getting an answer there has to be one for you.

We also have a forum here for people with headaches and you may want to visit over there too and see if anyone has any suggestions.

Any way, I wanted to pop on and tell you welcome aboard. Please keep us posted on what you find out. Take care.

Hi JH93!

And welcome to our forum at Healing Well!  You will find the people here, very caring and understanding.  Also, once in a while, they even help you, like straydog did.

I feel for you with these headaches.  You didn't mention whether you were male or female, but I know that migraines can plague females from the hormones they produce.  I am one of those females.  I had sporadic migraines during my reproductive life.  Now that I am in menopause, I have not had a true migraine in a long time, (knock on wood)!

My daughter who is 40 now is plagued with these awful headaches and she has two little ones to raise.  It's hard to just lay down and try to disconnect when you have two little ones.  I often take them here to allow her to rest.  She takes Inderal every day and Maxalt when she feels the migraine coming on.  This combination seems to be helpful.  She too, experiences the nausea and sometimes vomiting that coincides with the awful pain going on inside your brain.

You are very young to be experiencing these headaches, but not out of the question.  I would see a pain management doctor or, like straydog suggested, a teaching hospital for help.  I would seek out a doctor that specializes in headaches and the closest that I can think of is a pain management physician.

Please come back and post again and tell us how you are doing.  We care.

God bless you,

HI JH
Well I can certainly feel for you. I have had one big massive continuous headache going on twelve years now. I have seen tons of doctors, all kinds of them, tried so many meds and done many forms of treatments and nothing has helped me. I keep ice on my head all the time. My lists are long but if you would like to PM me I could share a lot of what i have tried with you.

All we can do is take it one day at a time.

Welcome to our forum. Hope you keep posting with us.
