Hi everyone. Another week is upon us, I suppose. :P

I just got back from an appointment with my Pain Management doctor. He went over the results of my CT-Myleogram, and said that it didn't really show anything different though he isn't as familiar with the tests as a surgeon is. He said that unfortunately, its a double edged sword because it still didn't show him 100% where I am getting most of my pain from, but also didn't show anything new or awful. So he wants me to get back in touch after I see the neurosurgeon in Pittsburgh next Monday. He said that, depending upon what the surgeon says, they will probably recommend that I try going up to the next 'strength bracket' of pain medication. So, while I didn't get that medication today, at least I know that he's willing to help with that instead of keeping me on this Tramadol which isn't helping.

But now I have to wait until I see the neurosurgeon. I'm feeling sorta worse than usual today, but its mostly because of the travel. I'm really not looking forward toward the 3 hour drive to Pittsburgh, but I gotta do it.

I've been talking with a law firm and am appealing an SSDI/SSI denial and the attorneys act like I have a good maybe someday, eventually, I can be a bit more financially stable for myself. The uncertainty of what lies ahead for me is one of the worst parts of having this, so I've been focusing on being comfortable and treating myself and taking one day at a time, but sometimes it's difficult. It would help if I knew I could help contribute more to my medical/travel costs and just general expenses. I'd like to rely on my dad as little as possible.

Have a good week, and thanks everyone. :)

Hi Mister

I`m so glad your doctor is taking you seriously. Even if it takes a week it will be worth waiting if the pain is going to improve. I just accidentally deleted the message I wrote so will type it again later but for now just wanted to say I`m so happy for you. Take care, Di xx

I am dismayed at your doctor for not giving you a medication that would help you NOW. I mean why do you have to suffer when making that long trip you described? IMHO, he should have ordered you something on the day you saw him, but that's just my opinion.

It's actually a pet peave of mine when doctor's don't cover their patients with adequate pain medication. When I practised as an RN on the floors of a hospital, I would get into many, shall we say, discussions with doctors, for not giving adequate pain medication. I usually won.

As far as even having the myelogram, I congratulate you. They are tough. I've had two, myself. The neurologist will be better able to interpret it and I pray that he finds some adequate answers for you. You are very brave for what you are going through and I sincerely admire you.

Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

God bless,

Hi Mister, glad to hear he is at least open to understanding that your pain is not under control, thats a step in the right direction. Lets hope next week this all gets straightened out once and for all. You have been very patient about this whole mess, not many would have been.

What do you think the neurosurgeon will have to say next week? Sorry to hear that you have to travel so far to see him. Make sure the day before to call and confirm that your appt is still on for the next day. Seems like I remember they have canceled on you and not bothered to let you know till you got to the office. Or, I could be confusing you with someone else here at the forum.

Is the attys office you have been talking with going to take your claim? Remember you only have 60 days I believe it is to file the appeal. Time can slip by before you know it.

Keep us posted.
