just to clear something up, I thought I was taking the right dosage of medication, because the prescription on the bottle read take 2 as needed, it was never explained to me in the first visit that it was only to be taken at bed time, I was told that after the second prescription had been prescribed, I had also asked the pharmacist what is an acceptable limit as I didn't want to over do it. I was told that no more then 8 a day, 2 pills every 4-6 hours and to try not ever take that many. On average I was taking 4 a day, I had bad days where I needed 6. And I need to correct the size of the pills I was on were 5mg, not 10mg. After this was told to me by my doctor, I didn't know how to respond because I was worried she would cut me off and it was helping me through the pain, and this is where it all went down hill. Then unfortunately I started going on the internet and got some false information, not from this website, that sometimes the medication can cause the pain to be worse, so that's when I got the idea to get off it, and I did it completely wrong. I have an appointment with my family doctor today to discuss a different medication, as the celebrex isn't working for me, it just causes my stomach to cramp and hurt, doesn't help I have acid reflux and got over an ulcer only about a year ago. If I had know I was taking more then my doctor wanted then I would be at fault, from a prescription bottle saying two as needed, and nothing else, not even a time frame, I didn't think I was in the wrong.
As for the physio I hope it will help with the pain as well, I have also read what straydog has said that a herniated disc will heal on its own, but I have yet to read this from a person who has had a herniated disc in there back. The orthopedic surgeon I saw told me I have two problems with my back, didn't explain anything that would help, just told me to go to front and they would set up an appointment for physio. Because I live in Ontario as well, I don't have a lot of choice where I go, I have to go where I'm told. My family doctor did try to set another appointment up with a pain clinic, would that be advisable? I'm really new to all this, for 6 months I haven't done anything, I and feel I've lost 6 months of my life just to told I'm not doing anything to help myself, when I couldn't.
I thank all of you for your responses and understanding
