I have been back in PA for 24 hours and my pain level in my left leg is up to an 8.  I took a flight from Fl to Baltimore it was 2 1/2 hour flight and then a 2 hour car trip.  My leg is screaming!!!

Im back ro taking oxycontin 10 mg twice a day.  So dissapointing spelling.

I see my PM doc tomorrow.  Thank goodness.

I missed posting and doing chats.  My dial up in FL was horrible.  Im glad I have high speed in PA.

I will post after my appt tomorrow.

I hope I sleepwell tonight.  The last 2 nights have been insomia spelling.

my PM doc was pleased that I didnt take any oxycontin for 6 weeks while I was in Fl but the warm weather really helped me. Now since Im in PA I hurt so the pm doc gave me a script for vicadin 10-600. Ihave 15 tabs of oxy left. that should be enough to last me until my surgery on 3-30.

I slept fairly good last night so I hope tonight follows the same as last night.

Tuesday I will try to sew a little on checkered flags

Hi Everyone

Im hanging in there.

We had to take in our adult godson and his 5 yr old boy to live upstairs in the rooms we dont use. Stress! Rooms need to be purged. Did the smallest room yesterday. Incredible.

I am exhausted today. I know why. Did to much yesterday.

My first floor where we live is filled with their furniture. I cant live like this. I need order and clean areas.

Betsy I am sorry your pain has increase due to your location. Its truly amazing that location makes such a vast difference in you pain levels. Good thing your pain doctor is there to help : ) I do not do well in disorder either so my sympathies to you on that one. I never assume that we will actually have an empty bedroom for long here it seems like when one moves another 1 -2 move in. our garage is overstuffed with stuff from this. Take care my dear and the best of luck on tour upcoming knee replacement.

Hi Everyone

I went thru my pre admissions tests and next week I go to a class about knee replacements.

One more week and then back to physical therapy.

I am apprehensive and on top of it anesthetesiology wants to charge me as a self pay patient and so does the rehab place admissions office.  I had to call my lawyer and get her to draft a letter and email me that letter so I can present it to providers.  More stress!!!

Say your prayers for me.  I will be able to feel them.  They will help calm me down.

…well!….you think this time it will finally happen! wink …I hope so! Lets hope all will go just fine, and the knee will heal well, and you will get good pain free use out of it.

I will be thinking about you, and sorry I have been away from the forum for a while….was not feeling well at all, and I'm still not out of the woods just yet. Dr is making adjustments to med's and trying other options.

Today we purged the biggest upstairs bedroom. More trash bags to be thrown out. Bedroom furniture is still in the bedroom but you can walk around the room now. I will vacuum it on Monday.

This week all of our godsons furniture needs to go upstairs.

I need order to my life and calm.

We are all cheering you on and will be praying!...

Let the Anesthesiologist know about the nausea the day of the surgery and hopefully they can add in something like Phenegran which can go right in your IV and help for when you wake up...

Also be sure to strictly follow the orders of no drinking or eating after a certain time depending on your surgery...This is specifically for not getting sick during surgery...so no cheating! LOL...

I got a lot of nausea my first surgery but they quickly put in the Phenegran and I felt much better...

Try not to do too much beforehand so that you can be calm and relaxed before the surgery...

Keep us posted..

Hi

Friday is my day of surgury.  I am trying to get in touch with admissions at a rehab place to reserve a room for me for Sunday.   I keep leaving messages. and no return calls yet.

Some of our godsons furniture went upstairs.  It is easier to navigate around on the first floor.

I called the rehab place again and talked to a woman who was taking the calls for admissions.  A bed will be available on Sunday.    I just have to let the social worker know about going to rehab while I am in the hospital.

Im a little apprehensive about surgury but since I have been thru 4 other operations on my leg I should breeze right thru this one.

It is 8:43 pm and my pain is at an 8. From the ball of my left foot up to my thigh. I am miserable. Vicadin isnt cutting it. In 2 hours if I dont get relief then I will take a oxycontin.

My bag is packed for the hospital and rehab. I removed my fingernail polish.

Tomorrow I need to wash with antibacterial dial. I will use Nair on my legs so I dont nick myself.

Sometime between 3 to 7 pm on thursday the hospital will call me to tell me what time to report to the hospital on friday.

Anxiety is starting to arrive.

Oh Betsy,

I hope you will get the relief you are seeking with this surgery.  The time up to the surgery is almost as bad on us mentally as the time after.  Of course the pain depends on the surgeon and these good old bodies of ours, but you are a fighter and you will do well.

I will have you in my thoughts and prayers.

Good luck

My surgery is scheduled at 5:30 pm on March 30. I should be in my room by 9:30 pm. Anxiety is getting high.

Family, just keep praying for me. Have a successful surgery and be able to bear full weight on that leg.

It has been a long time coming to this point.

I can eat 2 pieces of buttered and jelly toast and coffee before 7:00 am. That wont last long with me. Belly will be talking for a short time.
