So I finally did my blood work...LOL. I do have a Positive RF which is "within normal ranges." (A positive RF only occurs within 1% of healthy people.) and I am sero-positive "within normal ranges". Yet my doctors, will surely blow this off. Hell, I got the news before they did by getting my lab work.
In any case, I don't feel like what I experience everyday is "within normal ranges", so today, I'm going to the PM and requesting a small dose of prednisone to see if that helps my joints from killing me. I'm going to post this in the RA section as well, hopefully, someone can tell me if they have experienced the same thing. As I've read and talked to RA patients, a lot of them say they start out this way. The funny thing is, I'm okay with it. It must be somewhat early in the progression as I have only suffered the joint pain for about 8 months..8 months of HELL!!!eyes Anyway, I know you aren't all familiar with me, but I thought I'd share.
C-PTSD, Severe Panic and Anxiety, Depressive Bi-polar. Chronic pain with no diagnosis. 1800mg Neurontin, 10/325mg Percocet x3, Klonopin 1mg x3, Prozac 20mg, Robaxin 500mg x2. DDD in shoulders and neck, bulge in C5/6 and 6/7. (apparently this is "normal" lol.)
Anyway, still trying to smile and and make the most of life, even when it gets really hard!

I was sero negative for 9 miserable months-then all of a sudden I was positve. No one would treat me until I was positive. Miserable.

Anyway, I hope you get answers and relief soon.
A small dose of prednisone won't help much you almost need to get into moderate doses ( for me 20 mgs) before it starts to really help.
Once controlled you can drop the dose quickly.

Ask your doctor for a hand or foot mri...a mri will show definitive proof, all
my bloodwork came back good, but a hand mri revealed damaged done to
certain joints, before the doctor could tell me which joints I told him and it
was exactly the joint that showed damage on the mri...once damage is
done it cannot be undone, only helped with medicines, more aggressive medicines...
just make sure if your sero-negative RA, that you start on the medicines slowly...
(Methotrexate - MTX is heck on the body, but it does help).

I'm Sero-Negative Arthritis, do a google search on that...the mri's will show definitively
if you have RA ....(bloodwork is not all good to go by that alone)

Thanks Chartreux, yeah they are only doing plain x-rays at this time of my hands and feet. Too bad they couldn't do a whole body scan, LOL. It's been in my knees and elbows really bad for about two weeks...but who knows, can't wait to see a rheumy! The first thing my PM said upon looking at my blood work was, "well at least you don't have RA." His practice is obviously limited from the stories I've heard.
