Lots of things going on.  Of course, (as some of ya'll know) the 2012 Tornado Season has officially screwed up some of us Kansans.  And for those of you that have been affected, my sorrow for you an9d your families is great.  I know that one of the guys that my husband works with have parents just north of town that lost their entire home to one and this is just the start of our season!  Anyway, the storms have forced me to the basement a couple of times in fear of losing everything...gosh I hate being in a tornado belt!
Which brings me to my next health hasn't been so good.  I'm trying so hard to keep my Blood Sugar in check....but it's me a cheesecake that isn't filled with calories and I'll eat my shoes.  Another problem......I am discovering that my feet are now getting neropathic pain.  Great something else to add to my growing problems! top that off I have had a UTI for the past two months.  Doc did some antibiotics a month or two ago but it didn't seem to kick it looks like I will be getting back on them again...YUCK!
You know how sometimes you wonder if things will turn around and get better?  Well I am at that point.  I'm sick of being in pain.....sick of feeling like crud....sick of the doctors telling me "nothing they can do."  It just sucks!  As if ya can't tell....I think my anti-depressant isn't working anymore...I've only been on it for ohh......6 years...or has it been 8....time seems to fly by and I'm stuck in one hell of a rut.
Okay....I'll step down off my soap box and see if anyone else wants to take it. LOL
Hugssss I've missed you all!!

Hi there,I don't know about taking anything on but I do know that chronic pain can wear even the strongest down. I can not imagine the stress you feel during tornado season, I have seen the devastating results and they are horrific but I have only seen what the news allows nothing first hand.

I underwent a few months last summer and fall with a staph infection so my doctor thought I had huge ulcer like sores all over my arms so I did the anti biotic rounds and they never helped. My daughter suggested I try removing aspertame from my diet and after 3 weeks the sore were gone, I believe I had aspertame poisoning because my body is doing so much better.

You mention your blood sugars I am a diabetic and now taking artificial sugars out of my diet I do tend to crave the cheesecakes and sweets so watching my levels can be a real charm. I give up and sure I might not eat the entire cake but I do have a piece. I noticed that a bunch of my neuropathic pains have not been as bad as of late.

The big one you mentioned is your anti depressant is not helping as much have you talked to you doctor? I gave up on Cymbalta and lyrica as they are so darn expensive and my family said I was zombie like and even though zombies are apparently "in" I think I am doing better without them. I still take elavil after all I can't stop everything. Maybe you just need a lIttle increase of strength of course you and you're doctor know what is Best so maybe it's time to have that talk.

I do hope reading my long post makes you feel a little better, I did try, sometimes I of course go off on a tangent not making a lot of sense but that's the fibro flaring the fog makes me strange to even me, sometimes I get annoyed by the arguements and then realise I was fighting with myself, lol.
Take care

Hey Scarred-so glad to know you did not get blown away. I remember all too well living in southwest Kansas and dealing with those things. Of course we have them in Tx just as bad so, I did not escape them.

My husband is diabetic and is a mess with his blood sugar being all over the place. He was recently started on Neurotin for the neuropathic pain in his hands and feet. He feet also became numb but he could feel the pins and needles and burning. Also, when he could not hold a fork to eat he finally told his dr what was going on because the man likes to eat. He is still dropping stuff but not as bad as he was. The dr put him on Neurotin and jacked the dose up and its beginning to help. So, talk to your dr about this.

Take care....Susie
