Thank You Straydog, and Thanks to all of you who wrote and wished me well! I have had a nice Birthday, I am down in Kentucky at my sisters, and my niece and her family came and we had steaks out on the grill and my sister got me a Ice Cream Cake  so it was fun and good food for all! I am down here for the next week or so, I see the neurosurgeon here this Tuesday, and find out what he wants to di with my back. If he also thinks I need surgery then I will have it done down here.

Again I thank you all for your Kindness and for thinking about me, it really means allot!

May God shower you all with his blessings!

Well I seen the surgeon yesterday, he doesn't want to do the surgery, he said he is very very very conservative about doing surgery, and he said if he has any doubts at all about it helping me right now and in the future, he will not do it. He also told me that since I have two conflicting view points that maybe I should consider a third opinion. Well I really don't want to have the surgery anyway, ( I must admit I am a little leery about going under the knife again) so for now I am going to go along with his view point. He told me the reason that he doesn't want to do the surgery is because my back is a real mess, all the facet joints in my lower back are severely damaged from the arthritis, and the bone spurs and bulging disks, with all of that, he said that there is a good possibility that surgery might make my condition even worse. So for now he said  unfortunately he thought managing the pain would be the best course of action. He also explained the different approaches that surgeons have in dealing with a patients problem, and he was just not into agreement with what my surgeon here at home wants to do.

I look at it this way, if the pain gets really bad and I get desperate, I can always go and get a third opinion or go back to my surgeon at home ( whom I really like and trust as he has done surgery on me before) and I can have him re-evaluate me.
That is the news here, for now.

Then I guess you should not do the surgery, sometimes we have to go with
a gut feeling and seems like you've had enough for now. So sit back and look for a good pm doctor. Many many well wishes and prayers, hope you can get low pain days.

Thanks Chart. Yes that is my next thing to do, I have the best spinal pain management doctor, in the world (at least as far as I'm concerned!) but when my lease on my house expires in November, I am moving! Since the divorce, I have no family here where I live, and most of the friends I thought I had, were apparently better and more loyal friends to my ex! I mean after all if you remember, I was the bad guy who filed for it in the first place! Anyway as you old timers know, I have said all along I was going to move from here. I have been checking things out, down in Kentucky where my sister and her family live, and as for military bases, there are quite a few that are allot closer to me where I want to move to in Kentucky, than there is where I live here in Illinois. Any where from an hour and a half away to three and a half hours away. Right now the closest military base to me here in Illinois is at least 4 or more hours away! Another thing that is a plus on moving, is I have even dated a couple of ladies down there, that I really do like!. So now I have the task of trying to find a new chronic pain management doctor down there in Kentucky! I have some time to do that, but it is kind of an intimidating task, that I really am not looking forward to doing!
