Well I seen the surgeon yesterday, he doesn't want to do the surgery, he said he is very very very conservative about
doing surgery, and he said if he has any doubts at all about
it helping me right now and in the future, he will not do it. He also told me that since I have two conflicting view points that maybe I should consider a third opinion. Well I really don't want to have the surgery anyway, ( I must admit I am a little leery about
going under the knife again) so for now I am going to go along with his view point. He told me the reason that he doesn't want to do the surgery is because my back is a real mess, all the facet joints in my lower back are severely damaged from the arthritis, and the bone spurs and bulging disks, with all of that, he said that there is a good possibility that surgery might make my condition even worse. So for now he said unfortunately he thought managing the pain would be the best course of action. He also explained the different approaches that surgeons have in dealing with a patients problem, and he was just not into agreement with what my surgeon here at home wants to do.
I look at it this way, if the pain gets really bad and I get desperate, I can always go and get a third opinion or go back to my surgeon at home ( whom I really like and trust as he has done surgery on me before) and I can have him re-evaluate me.
That is the news here, for now.
