Hi my family. I have an appointment tomorrow at 1:15 for a stress echo. I can't walk on the treadmill, so they're using the medication to get my heart going. I've never had one done, and I'm very nervous about it.

Has anyone here had one, that could tell me their experience with it? Please pray for me that everything goes ok, and that I can calm down.

Take care. I hope everyone is having a low pain day and evening.

love and hugs
Loretta

Hi Loretta....

My mom has had these done because she can't walk on the treadmill either.

It obviously is going to feel very strange and even a bit scary because they are deliberately making your heart race...but you will be fine. Just know that people are not dropping like flies because of this test! LOL...

Seriously though...it doesn't last very long at all. So just put your trust in them and just keep repeating to yourself..."It will be over soon...I will be fine"...

So...sending you some pre-test hugs (( ))....

Keep us posted how it goes..

Hey!…Loretta! wink We certainly hope all goes well for you tomorrow. I will be thinking about, and pray that all turns out ok! wink

What brought up the test?….have you been having some problems…or is this a normal checkup for you?

Take care,

Well, my other pcp before this one wanted it done because there's been some things on my EKG that have been off for several months, and so my new pcp ordered it, sent the paperwork to them, and they called me up and set it up for tomorrow. I hope there's nothing wrong.

Thanks Michael for the thoughts and prayers.

Thanks snowbunny for replying. It helps.

Hugs and prayers Loretta, your test will go fine, try not to worry about it so much. You will be in good hands while it is being done.

Keep the faith my friend.

Good luck Loretta... let us know how it goes.

I've had the stress echo done both ways - via treadmill and w/ the meds. I know you'll be in good hands... and it will be over before you know it.

Praying it goes well... let us know....

I've had it done with medication Loretta. It does feel funny, but as the others have said you'll be in good safe hands. Keep us posted my friend.

Hi Loretta, I do the chemical induced stress test and was scared on my first one too. But, it was really no big deal so now I don't freak out when I know its that time again. Its painless and you will do just fine, you will have plenty of medical people watching you closely. Good luck.....Susie

You all were right. It scared me while my heart was beating so fast, and pounding in my chest. Everything went fine. I felt really drained when everything was done and over with, The nurse gave me peanut butter and crackers and juice, and I was ready to go.

I'm glad it's done, and now I'll be waiting for the results. I will let you all know when I get them.

I hope you're all having a low pain evening.

love and hugs
