You all know about how much fun I had last Friday and the fun continued on to Monday.

Yesterday I had an appointment to see the pain nurse in order to get my scripts for this next months pain meds. I arrive about 10 minutes prior to my appointment and check in and am still sitting in the waiting room 45 minutes past my appointment time.

Finally one of the receptionists calls me up to the desk and says the nurse will be with me in a few minutes and says the reason I had been waiting for so long is that no one told the pain nurse I was there and the nurse did not remember having an appointment with me today and therefore did not check the computer to see if I had checked in.

The receptionist, and later the pain nurse, both tell me that I should have went back up to the desk and reminded them I was there after 15 minutes making it sound like it was my fault for waiting quietly.

Up until a few months ago there used to be a large sign in the waiting room that said that if you had been waiting for 15 minutes past your appointment time to check back in at the desk but it was taken down. In the past I would go back up after 20 minutes and would always get a snotty reply to the effect of "You will be called as soon as possible" and nothing more so after 3 or 4 times of that I just stopped going back up.

I told them all that and their reply was to the effect that I should know the pain nurse appointments are different than a doctor appointment and should have known to check back in. Really? How am I know this since no one ever bothers to tell anyone anything around there. And yes, I did tell them that which surprisingly got me the last word on the subject.

And yes. I did get my scripts, and I am going to need them. Between Friday and yesterday I am quite sore.

So very sorry you had to go thur another bad situation, and it is so very frustrating with appointments your nurse was at fault for this, not you. Glad you got your meds, hope they can give you better relief and I hope your week gets better, much better...many many well wishes and prayers...

Take care, and enjoy the rest of the week as best you can.

I've had those type of weeks for sure, lol... where everything that CAN happen, will happen.

Hang in there... take those meds.... and rest & feel better. Let us know how you are doing.

MY PCP is going to be ticked at me when I go in to see her the first of August. I ended up canceling an appointment I had with an endocrinologist. This is the 2nd time I have had to cancel that appointment. The first time I had no way to get there as my car had broken down and this time I am broken down. Just didn't think I could handle the 100 mile round trip after the last few days.

Sorry to hear you've had another bad experience so soon after the last one. Hopefully your doctor will understand you just couldn't make the trip after all this pain and stress. I hope everything calms down for you soon.
