Hi brokeup and welcome to HW. As for what's normal and what's not everyone has different experiences. Yes some feel the nerves reacting to the invasion with a shocked feeling and some have numb spots from the meds used.
The most important thing for now is to keep any swelling to a minimum to prevent even more pressure from occurring. Use an ice pack at the injection site for at least another day or so. Take ibuprofen or Aleve if you can tolerate those kinds of meds.
The soreness should be gone in a few days and the area of numbness as well. As for the weakness in your leg that can occur from the extreme muscle spasm that took place when he hit the nerve, a natural physical reaction. Kind of like when you over work them from walking too much or over exercising and try to lightly work that out by light leg exercises, flexing your leg and foot while lying down.
It should all go away or at least be better by Monday and if your still having problems you can call your Dr.
Good luck with the results!
