I spoke with her a bit ago and she has not had surgery at this time. She is now running a fever and thats an indication of infection. Where they have not pinpointed. She does have a bad blockage going on and so far all of their efforts to get things moving again have not been successful. She has a family history of colitis, the gi taking care of her said that could be a possibly what is going on with her. Without doing a scope there is no way of knowing this for sure.

Until the fever breaks not much will be happening with her. This fever has pretty much brought things to a standstill.

The ER dr was a snake. However, her admitting dr and gi dr have been really nice to her and are trying to help her.

QTPye appreciates all of the thoughts & prayers. Keep the thoughts & prayers coming her way. We will post more as we find out. Right now her cell phone is dead and she does not have a charger up there with her..

Hi you guys. I found a nurse with a charger like mine so I have a few minutes to post but not long, I'm afraid.

It was so nice to talk to you today Susie... Thank you for updating everyone for me. Still no change. They actually just put in a PICC line so I'm afraid I'll be here for a while longer than I hoped. My whole family is in Florida so its been a bit rough being in here since my Aunt lost power and I'm trying to.figure out where the kids can go and who can get them there now. LoL. I didn't realize how much I depend on my phone till right now. I had four numbers memorized but once those options were exhausted, I was put of luck. But its all okay now. My boyfriend is in Arizona this week (naturally, Murphy's law) and he feels helpless being so far away while I need help.

I will write more as soon as I get a phone charger up here (someway, somehow) and I really appreciate you all. The calls, texts, emails, posts, prayers and everything have cheered me up despite where I am. You guys have no idea how much it means to me to know that someone cares.

Talk to you soon! Susie, you can call anytime between 7am and 10pm if I don't get a chance to update soon.

Thanks again, everyone!

Hi Lindsey I'm sorry that the fever still hasn't broke. Isn't it a catch 22 type thing, where if you don't do the surgery, something can happen, and if you do, then something could happen as well?

You're in my thoughts and prayers sweetie. I know it must be so frustrating. Please keep us updated when you can.

love and hugs

You hang in there girl, you're right Murphy's law always happens when we don't need it to. I understand how you're feeling about being away from your family. We are on the east coast my hubby's family is on the west coast. My parents have passed on and I'm not close to my siblings. Often times it feels like I have no one except my hubby.

I'm sorry the fever hasn't broke yet, I know you're more than ready to get the blockage taken care of. I hope the PICC line went in well. I didn't mind mine when I had one, better than changing my IV every 3 days. Hope you're not in to long.

Prayers still coming your way. Hope you've got the kids settled somewhere and you're not worrying to much about them. Or should I say TRY not to worry to much about them, they'll be just fine. As long as they can call and talk to you they'll do great.

Keep us updated when you can and positive energy and healing prayers coming your way.

Prayers and hugs to you, as well. I know how frustrating this can be. (I had a PICC line in and fever and had surgery postponed too), so my heart truly goes out to you....I know time can feel like it's passing slow.

Just to let you know, even someone you've never met or spoke to is thinking about you, wishing you the best!

Be well soon,

Another update on QTPye, not really much to report at this moment. They did get things moving a little today. They are not sure now if its a blockage or stricture. The plan is now to get a scope hopefully on Monday to see for sure what is going on in there. She was told when we were hanging up the gi will allow her clear liquids only-she has had nothing the past 5 days & says she is hungry & cranky. I would be too with no food. I think its a good sign that she is getting hungry.

Have no idea if she is still running a fever or not, we had to hang up. I do know she is still without a phone charger and hopes she can find someone to bring one to her over the weekend. If I get to talk to her later this evening I will post any news here, if not it will be tomorrow.

If anyone is interested in calling & talking to her please send me an email & I can give you the number to her room. Be sure if emailing me to put it in the heading you are from HW....Thanks...Susie
