After months of planning, and waiting, our vacation finally starts in the morning. We leave for Charleston (about
3 hour plus drive) in the morning, and will spend the day and evening with our daughter.
Sunday morning, we have about a 15 minute drive to the terminal, and will board the ship, and then the fun will begin. Only then, I will feel like I can finally relax.
We are going on the same cruise as last year. Five days to the Bahamas, couresty of Carnival's ship Fantasy. It's their oldest ship, and one of the smallest, but we like that part. Not real fond of being on the mega ships that can hold 3 to 4 thousand people. Should be around 1,500 on this particular trip. And since school is in session, should be fewer children to deal with (no offense to kids, have 3 of my own), but they have been known to overtake some of the mid-summer cruises, have heard the horror stories.
Don't plan to do much except to enjoy good food, chill out, enjoy the sea air, etc. No schedules, no pressure, no alarm clocks.
My only concern is I am in much worse shape than I was a year ago, as far as being able to walk. Despite elevators, the ship still has many decks and areas that can only be reached by climbing steep steps and stairwells. Just going to have to scale it back and take it easy.
Since we have been to Freeport and Nassau before, we don't have any major land plans this time. We actually enjoy the sea days more.
So I hope everyone back here has as pain free days as possible, and I will be out of technology reach until a week from tomorrow.
I will try not to enjoy myself too much, wouldn't be fair to the rest of you. lol.
