Pride issues aside, have made the decision to get a rolling walker, to supplement my use of a cane while walking, especially if I have to walk any serious distance or be on my feet too long at a time.
When I see my dr next Wednesday, going to see if he will write a script for one.
Anyone having any luck with getting Medicare to pay for one, or most of one?
Looking for first hand recommendations of makes and models.
I see some have hand brakes like a bike, and even folding seats, but wouldn't want anything to heavy, as the floor of my trunk in my car is pretty high off the ground.
Based on Thursday's visit at oncology rehab, they are about to require me to use one, or else they may make me quit the walking part of what I do on PT days.
I had several near falls while there, with the therapist right next to me, on the last one, she saved me by quickly grabbing onto my right shoulder. It was a close call, again.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I would rather consent to using one now, as oppose to breaking a hip or some other serious accident waiting to happen.
