It's me AGAIN!!!! Sorry. Please don't be mad or kick me out. I really need some help.
I'll try to make it quick....dentist found really bad infection in the bone of my upper jaw a few weeks ago. Been on antibiotics for 3-4 weeks, finished today. I AM CALLING ORAL SURGEON IN THE MORNING REGARDING MY PROBLEM, but value your advice too. 1 1/2 weeks ago, had oral surgery--tooth was removed, infection exposed, was much worse than had been anticipated. Had eaten away a lot of bone. Surgeon cleaned it out best they could, put in bone graft material, and sewed it closed. Tissue was feeling better after a few days of swelling and bruising. Couple days ago, started becoming increasingly painful. Not horrible, but going in the wrong direction!
So, I'm very worried that the infection is not gone. If there is any chance the infection may still be there, I guess I want antibiotics. I have SO many health problems as it is, healing will already be very difficult due to the size of the infection and I don't want to lose more teeth or bone or end up w/ the infection spreading to my blood or my brain.
I know antibiotics are overused, which can lead to resistance, and other problems. WHAT WOULD YOU DO? TELL ME WHY IT IS OR IS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO CONTINUE ON ANTIBIOTICS.
I'll be quiet now.
