Hello all, I have not been one here for a while, but I need some advice or at least someone to tell me I am not crazy.
Wednesday, June 25 2014 and saw my pain doctor, then I made my way to the pharmacy I have used to almost 20 years. After that we (my 13 year old grandaughter was with me the whole day), it was 90 degrees and the humidity was almost the same. By the time we got home, I was so tired as I had been going from 630 am til 600 pm. Point is I did not count my meds until Thursday. All was good until I got to my endocet (generic for percocet). My perscription is 120 for 30 days, I counted them several times and I only had 86 pills. Now I know what I took on Wednesday, and Thursday am before I started the count. It was the same except for what I had taken which was 6, 3 on Wed, and 3 Thursday.
I asked my daughter to count them, she got the same count as I. I called my pharmacist when the pharmacy opened at 9 am, I called 10 minutes as I knew she would be busy when it opened. I explained to her the amount that was short, she put me on hold and checked her count on the I got them.
She told me in a voice that made me feel like I was trying to get over on her, and that simply is not who I am. Her answer was, "well you must have done something because my count is right. There are 2 pharmacy techs working with her, but she refused to admit someone had done the count wrong. I have known this woman for almost 20 years, how could she now speak to me as if I was a junkie trying to get over on her.
If I had taken the pills that were missing, I would be not here anymore. I was crying when I finished talking with her as it was so insulting to me, I Never sell, give away any meds, I need all I get.
Thanks for listening, it seems I must find another pharmacy, which I already found one near the hospital, and called them to make sure they carried all the meds I take.It is going to take me a long
time to get over the way my pharmasist made me feel.
Anyone have anything like this happening to you?
