I am not happy to hear I need another ACDF after I had the same procedure 2 yrs ago for c3-4 and c5-6 using bone from my hip...which never fused although I was told it was, so I went back to work after 5 month recovery still in serious pain. That was Jan 2013. I continued to decline from the pain, sick of being treated like a drug seeker, I demanded to go back to my former pain management Dr. who weaned me off narcotics and began Botox-B injections into my neck, shoulders, and along my spine; all to stop the muscle spasms. So things were looking up or so I thought when I developed severe symptoms on the right side of both extremities, so MRI showed the fusion failed with my bone and migrated into the canal compressing on the cord, and the middle disk non fused c4-5 was ok and not breaking down, however c6-7 was completely broken down from the above fusion. So my conundrum is if I move forward with c3-c7, will C7-T1 breakdown next? What mobility issues will I have? And what other options do I have? I was taken out of work again Jan 2014 (I am a critical care nurse with "no lifting over 20 lbs, no pushing, pulling, bending, stooping; took me right out of work as I have to be able to lift 50 lbs, pull, push 150+ at any given time) and I feel so worthless and in pain all the time. The neurosurgeon was more concerned about
my right leg and focused on my lower back so my neck has not been addressed at all. HELP!!
