Hello Happy Turtle...I'm new here and can't help but wonder about
that name...love it=) I'm new to PM also, so I'm probably not the best one to answer your question. I, too have spent most of my life "pushing" through some pretty debilitating pain. Last Fall I decided "something's gotta give because I can't do this any more". I'm a solutions kind of person, so I sought out specialists in 3 states from Vanderbilt to UMMC (a total of 8 before it was over). The consensus was that additional surgery isn't the answer...seek pain management. I did so in January of this year. It remains a proverbial journey as I have not yet arrived @ pain relief without side effects. I'm trying to accept that I have to accept that!?
So, basically it's an individual decision you must make based on risk vs. benefit. I will say it's essential to find a PM doctor with whom you have a good vibe. I don't with mine, but my options are limited. I hope you get some answers and some relief!
