Drs doubled the toradol for the headache. Today is the first day I could watch Tv without the light and sound being to painful. I've been living in my dark little cave since Friday morning. The ER staff and the Drs on the floor have been great with the darkness and hung a sign on the door stating to ask before turning on lights. Only downside is that I have 6 Drs coming in and out, so not much quiet time, but that's the story of a hospital stay. One thing I highly appreciate is that they ask, "what do I think they should do?". When it comes to pain/nausea control. 2 med students told me they had spent the morning researching my " autoimmune mush" as they call it. I'm sure there are plenty of arrogant Drs roaming the halls, but luckily I don't have one-yet.
Keeping a close watch on the kidneys since toradol can be rough on them, but so far so good. I asked about it being around a 3 day med since it can due damage, but they said they monitor carefully. Good thing since it's been a lifesaver.
Monday my local Drs decided to stop TPN and see how I do. While I'm glad to b off it, it appears to b at a bad time. I'm having awful nausea-which is awful since I can't physically throw up, it's pretty non-stop. The retching is so painful on the jaw. I'm trying so hard to eat and prove I don't need it-even jello isn't working. It's just like everything is snowballing. A pca was added today to help with the jaw pain.
Hoping that tomorrow will be the start of better days. I have a return appointment for the 10th, so if I end up being discharged at the end of the week, I'll just stay n a hotel. A 6hr round trip is exhausting without having to turn around and doing it again a few days later.
