Started with Lyrica. Had the crazy weight gain and horrible thoughts and dreams. Downright scary it was. Stopped after 2 weeks. A month later, was switched to gabap. It didn't help my pain and it affected my motor skills to where I had trouble walking. After two months, I complained about
all of the side effects simply were not worth it so he said just stop it. Big mistake! I had the most horrible withdrawals ever, I honestly thought I was dying on more than one occasion - with BP 's over 190/110! It was probably the worst experience of my 59 yr old life.
After a year off everything but oxycotin/oxycodone, which I tolerate well (other than non-existent testosterone levels, high bp and ocular pressure, all being treated) my nerve based pain in one leg from stenosis, my pain doc put me on cymbalta. It took several days to adjust to it but the pain relief was immediate! So, I'm two months on the cymbalta and so far so good.
Sorry to hear that Gabapentin didn't help you since it is an older, non-designer drug, it's generic and cheap! Lyrica is nuts-o expensive. But hey, if it helps the pain, it will be worth it.
