A physical therapist might be able to help you diagnose this.
I've got what I think is this. My symptoms are post laproscopic surgery in the area where the kidney is, pain that starts when I stand up or walk, but it goes away when I lie down for some time. I can get it to hurt if I poke with just one finger in just the right spot. There are no visible symptoms on X-ray, CT or MRI. The pain starts in one spot but runs along a dermatome down to the groin and leg and up over the hip bone.
A spinal injection in the area where the dermatome starts might help. See the article. I haven't had an opportunity to talk with my pain doc about
this yet because of so many other problems.
I had a pain like this but on the other side after another surgery. This one went away after a few weeks. My current one is not going away.
