I did too much yesterday, slept in too long, and woke up at level 8. I mowed a big brush area, took the mower off the tractor and put the scoop on. Too much pushing and shoving. It's a 6 foot mower deck. I don't have a long-acting pain med, so it takes a couple of hours before I can function when it gets like this. (not that I function all that well normally)
I need to talk to my pain doc about trying something that gets me through the night, but not allowed to go until Sept. I've tried long-acting tramadol, but it doesn't work at all, even for normal day pain, doesn't even raise serotonin (I lose the happiness effect of regular tramadol). I'd try Fentanyl patch but the IV stuff gives me extreme nausea, codeine and just about everything else too. What else is there? My regular meds are tramadol TID and Norco 7.5 BID.
It's too hot & humid to do anything outside today, so I'll get the shopping done. Yay for ride-on carts at some stores!
Actually, I'm getting lots more exercise and feeling better. I thought I was permanently finished after the broken neck episode. I don't think I'll ever be able to walk much without pain and exhaustion; that's not getting better. But overall strength is a bit better and endurance improving.
I can't feed the cats outdoors anymore, mine ("mommacat") and "babycat" who comes up from grandkid's house. A young 'coon has learned to come out in the morning. The cats are outside during the day, by their preference. It's safe here in the woods, nearly 1/4 mile from the highway. Cats will just have to tell me when they want to come in for food. Cats like to eat a little all day. I don't have litterboxes.
