Hello, just wanted give a small update…

It's been a while, and my life has change considerably the last year or so, but my pain lower back remains constant and about the same. I am headed in to my Dr for a review of may pain levels though, and make any adjustments needed. It has been over two years since I had my last adjustment.

I will soon be retired from the current employer after 37yrs of service, and must say that it was a great career. On to better things, and to get started, we are raising chickens now…LOL! And getting 3doz eggs a week from the ladies! I wished we had done this 30yrs ago!

I hope you all are doing well, and hope to get back here on a regular basis now….

Take care!

The chickens sound great !! My parents had a dozen or so chickens until I was about 10 when we moved to area that did not allow them. we missed those fresh eggs every day 'Cause it really changed what my SAHM cooked.

Diane, I think every one who has a decent size back yard should have two or three chickens, not only for the eggs, but the entertainment. They are a hoot to watch!

I was concerned that Foster my dog might be a problem, but much to my amazement he actually protects them! What a smart dog! :) Out of eight hens, we are getting around 5 eggs a day and I can't wait to get home and check the nest.

Chartreux, its good to see that you are still shaking a leg. I know you have had a tough time of it here and there, and hope you are doing better now. Such a nice lady you are. :)

Happy thank you for the encouragement! :)

Hi SE, nice to see you back on the site.

How long has it been since I visited you? Spring 2013? Seems like much longer than 2 years.

I agree. wish there were no ordinances here against having 'farm animals'. It's nice to have live things around.. and yes, they are more interesting than TV !

My mom made so many yummy foods.. especially delicious puddings -banana was my favorite ! using those almost-free eggs. Chop up most anything, mix w/eggs = omlettes.

When I was young, a parent's reoccuring major medical issues caused periods of no income which I remember mostly in relation to what we had to eat. (Oh, And what Santa might bring me.). Don't think even my parents had understood ahead of time the impact of moving & having to give up our chickens. Pus the great soil in our huge garden plot.

Back when we had chicken most of our neighbors also had a few running around too..
Any 'egg sucking' dogs would have immediately gone to new homes in town
but, like you, our dogs, cats & chickens protected each other - would all set up a ruckus, warning us about trespassers, especially from sneaky snakes!

Enjoy retirement!
