Thanks for the "young man" comment....at 48 that feels good
I went into this with eyes wide
open but it has been much worse and more confusing that I would have ever thought!
I have been very careful to keep a schedule on the pain meds. This AM I was ok and felt satisfied that the schedule was working. I was VERY wrong!
After sleeping for a while I awoke to intense pain and, even though I was on schedule, the pain has not lessened. I am now taking what I think will work (pain meds) instead of heading into hospital this evening.
A big concern now is running out of pain meds. What I was originally prescribed for post op pain did almost nothing (5mg oxy 1-2) and what the ER prescribed, 10mg oxy , did very little and now I am out as I was only prescribed 3 days worth for the ER.
I Have the 5 mg oxy and enough for 2 more days if this does not get worse.
I feel a bit hung out to dry by the surgeon. Not the right amount or type of meds. Should I call the surgeon and get a additional prescript
ion or wait till the end of the week when I see my PM Doctor? Will the PM dr be able to or willing to prescribe since this is both post surgery pain as well as a continuation of my original issues?
I am not sure if I am just experiencing slightly worse than usual pain or if something is wrong. 4 days since surgery and I feel no better and seem to be heading towards more pain
Sorry if it seems I am ranting!
As an aside: been out walking slow and careful last three days. about
4/10 of mile each time. Really want to increase that but I am forcing myself to hold back a bit.
