Yes you should leave that job to your husband and be very thankful that he is willing to do it. It will not always hurt you, but for several more months it probably will. I think the posture rules are broken while vacuuming so that's the cause of it. Also the repetitive movement does not help at all.
I also have a husband who is/was willing to do more around the house to keep me from hurting, so I can't remember exactly when that part of the healing happened. At 2 1/2 years post op it's not a problem, but I can still get that pain started if I work in the kitchen too long. Again, that's a posture issue, I think. I've learned to take a break to avoid that, but pay for it when I don't remember to do that.
Keep up the good (house)work, just not all of it, all the time. It does get better, just not soon enough for most of us.
