Hi, I just want to ask is someone has any idea on which marijuana strain would be very effective when it comes with chronic back pain.
I injured my back at work and been suffering for almost 3 months now and mostly can't sleep properly at night. I refrain my self on taking meds coz they only take the pain for a minute or so and back again. So that's the reason I started my research on medical marijuana and found this along the way
I have no idea that marijuana now can ease the pain, cbd and thc are all new to me. I also read that drinking it as tea or as a muffin/cake is an option, but is the pain-relief effects the same? Why can't they simply make pills out of marijuana - or maybe there are that I am not aware of. I only tried smoking it a couple of times with some friends and occationally.
If it's true that it can take away the pain, then I would very much appreciate any ideas and advice on what strain is good and how to use it medically. Thanks in advance to those who'll answer.

AngelWing you can use the search feature located at the top & type this info in & read some of the old threads on this. We do ask that you do not post on the old threads & the members are no longer active here & we like to keep the old threads off of the main page. Another factor is it legal in your state? The members that were trying it continued having to take pain medication & found the cost to be too expensive.

Take care.

Agelwing, I have experience with lots of pain meds, as I have been dealing with Chronic Pain for 15+ years. I would suggest you research Cesamet or Nabilone if you are considering Medical Cannabis, as it is a prescribed drug, however it is synthetic Cannabis. I tried it and found it too strong as I was "high" quite badly, and to me that is no way to function daily. I also tried numerous Opioids to no avail. I currently use Medical Cannabis as it is legal in Canada, and regulated by our government. It is very difficult to get to strain effectiveness; you have to do a trial & error approach. The cost is not prohibitive if it works, and believe me it is the only medication that has helped me, as what it does is stop your brain from focusing on the pain. I currently vaporize it so I don't inhale the bad smoke. The vaporizor boils the medicine. Good luck in your research, just my 2 cents! smile
