Yesterday it got really windy really fast. I tried shutting the truck door 4/5 times but the wind kept pulling it back open. My husband had to get out and shut the door.

Within an hr I had my previous acdf 6/7 pain.. neck, shoulder, scapula and numbness in my fingers. I am 4 mos post op acdf 6/7.

I'm feeling afraid I've pinched 5/6 nerve. B/c today I have neck pain, headache, shoulder and forearm pain.

Thoughts on flare up, pinched nerve 5/6 or pulled forearm muscle?

Thank you

Hello weaver & welcome to Healing Well. First thing is call your dr & get in to be seen. Your pcp can order whatever xrays that are needed if the surgeon cannot see you right away. In the meantime, try alternating moist heat/cold packs. Try getting an OTC analgesic to rub on the affected areas. I was just at Walmart & saw one that actually had some lidocaine in it, but I cannot remember the name. Perhaps give advil a try, anything like that to help with inflammation.

It is hard to say what is going on, you may have just aggravated things. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Take care.

HI weaver01 your pretty new from your surgery yet, and it will take quite some time for your ACDF to fuse and completely heal so you might have just strained or. Stressed the nerves from your fused area a little thus causing your symptoms??? In any event I would definitely talk with your doctor and or surgeon about it! I guess it's possible an other disc (either above or below ) your fusion could have went bad, but probably highly unlikely, as usually when something like that happens, its many many years after that fusion!!
In the mean time just be extreme careful and cautious until you can get it thoroughly checked out! Please keep us informed of your progress, when your here on this forum your part of our chronic pain forum family and we do care about each other!
I wish you all the Best!

Update! The surgeon said since I'm having new symptoms to get an MRI and make sure I didn't pinch the nerve above it. He said I may need another medrol pak to settle things down. He gave me a muscle relaxer. I already got the MRI with my films. I see the surgeon again next week. The pain is a little less but when I do things it shows back up. Yeah me

Glad to hear your getting it checked Out! MRI is pretty much the gold standard for diagnosing sine problems hopefully you won't need another fusion. I will be curious to hear what the surgeon finds on your new MRI.

Good luck to you

Update: New MRI showed no new pinched nerve(s) and surgery hardware and fusion are good. It's all muscular. H U G E S I G H O F R E L I E F.
Lesson to all including myself: Use your head even during rushed situations. Don't do it. Have someone help you. #muscularflareupsfeellikeapinchednerve

Hello weaver, what wonderful news!! Yes, now that you have had this surgery you must be cautious at all times, lesson learned the hard way. However, this happens to many of us.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing. Take care.
