HT, so sorry to read that you are having such difficulties getting out on your walks. Maybe it is time to move towards getting that scooter. I have walked with a cane for many years & I am finding it harder to walk with the cane. I can only do very short walks, otherwise I drag out my rollator. Originally the cane was used because of balance issues. In some instances I think the cane has caused more problems than it has helped.

I hope you can get some relief soon. Take care.

Good for you for making the effort to go the distance around the block, despite the encountered difficulties.

Remember, there is no shame in going 1/2 the distance tomorrow or taking a day off from your walk. Some days our bodies need to rest.

It sounds like an electric scooter would be beneficial for you on the days that the effort to get out and about is too great. While I do not use a scooter, I do use a 4 wheeled walker. Somedays I depend exclusively on the walker to be able to walk, other days I can manage walking short distances without it. Variable use. Likely this would be true for your use of an electric scooter. Some days you would use it a great deal and other days less so.

I hope tomorrow's walk is a tad easier. Kudos for you for making the effort to walk even when it is hard to do so. We all have to keep trying the best that we can.

My morning walk is getting up before the turkeys and walking around the house with 8 L of corn in pitchers. I also fill a couple of bird feeders and replace suet blocks.

80 turkeys come down my every morning for food. Snow and ice is covering the acorns, so it's tough to get wild food. In a few days I'll cut back, as we're supposed to get Spring on Monday. Turkeys make a big mess, so I want them to go back into the wild as soon as possible.

Have a reason for walking, maybe greeting an older neighbor. I wouldn't get up and going if somebody wasn't depending on me.

Hummingbirds will be coming in a few weeks, and I need to find a bee guard that actually keeps bees out. Last summer the bees drove the birds away.
