Agree. My concern is not specifically about
opioids - it is about
treatment / lack of treatment for pain / chronic pain. I certainly do not want anyone to be addicted or experience ill effects!!
Suddenly dropping patients/ medication that do 'addict' our bodies, without helping us, IMHO, certainly DOES cause us harm!!
It has taken couple of years to get from 'legal' MM to issuing licenses. Companies had already purchased properties & built growing facilities & dispensaries, without waiting for license.
In 2015 Washington Post reported sales here probably would not begin until 2017. And here we are, almost 10 months into 2017.. No sales yet!
A (copyrighted) AP article dated this month reported that it has been 4 years since legalized here (Maryland) & that seeds have been planted. Indicated unstated factors would determine when it would be available.
Doctors have been offering to examine & provide 'cards', for many months.. Charging $250 & up. Someone i have known for years (another patient w/long term chronic pain & joint injuries) signed up for free online - I have not yet researched that.
