I've had two lumbar fusion surgeries a year apart, L3-5. the last in 2016. I have cervical issues but have resisted more fusions. Until recently I have walked daily but only a mile, however recently I began having right hip pain after walking which worsens as the day goes on. I can get relief If I don't walk for several days. The problem is that walking is my way keeping from stiffening and bringing on low back pain. I am 69. should I see a Neurologist or an Orthopedic Dr. Do you folks think this more joint degradation or nerve issues. Crap...getting old sure isn't for sissies.

Hello & welcome to the forum. Wow, 2 fusions in a short time. Yes, walking is a must for you. There is a real good chance you have bursitis in your hip. It can really be painful because of so much inflammation.

I would opt for going to the ortho & have it checked out. If it's a nerve type thing then try the neuro.

Keep us posted. Take care.
