Going to pain management for chronic back pain and was prescribed Norco 5/325 every 8 hours. Went back for a refill and medicine was negative in a urine drug screen in the office however when sent out to a lab it showed up. Has anyone had this problem? Going back in 10 days for a refill and afraid of being kicked out for negative test. Please help

If your next UA comes up negative you may have a problem. But for now since you were given your script I wouldn't antipate any issues. Sometimes testing isn't always accurate.

Take care.

The tests they do when they send it out are more sensitive than the regular urine tests they do in the office.

I am just wondering if having the roux en y has anything to do with the meds not showing on urine drug screen. I have a feeling it might be malabsorption. Spoke with my bariatric doc and this is what their input was however how do you get the pain management docs to realize this. At a total loss at this point and am worried about upcoming appt. 😢

Get a note from your bariatric surgeon if he think this could be reason it did not show up.
