In addition to my PCP, I've been to dentists, dental specialists, an oral surgeon, 3 neurologists, a therapist and a psychiatrist. No one has been able to help me. Oxtellar, gabapentin, Lyrica, etc. have had no effect. I was already taking Lamictal for depression. I have had this pain continuously for over 5 years. I understand that there is no definitive diagnostic test for BMS. I have tried yoga and meditation with very limited results. Distraction is the only thing that helps. I was just wondering if anyone else has found a med that provides some relief or a way to deal with this condition that I might not have already tried.

Hello Mrs NolaVette, I am sorry to read that you are still continuing to be plagued with this condition. It is has been quite awhile since we have had anyone come here with same. I did a forum search & there are a lot of old thread in the archives with members that were in the same situation. Looking for a way to get relief. Many did as you tried various medications used to treat nerve pain to no avail.

I hope one day the drs can figure out a way to treat this condition. Take care.

I get burning mouth every other month. I have MS which is supposedly the cause. I also have a mild case of trigeminal neuralgia. The only think I've found that helps is Gabapentin, but I hate taking it.

Wishing you the best of luck with this.
