I have been repeating the same word over and over (mentally) before I sleep for years. This is to block out thoughts. Now when I say that word (mentally) I do feel some relaxation. I also do not move even if I feel uncomfortable. Of course I make sure to not be on the edge of the bed and be properly covered. Hope this example might perhaps this might help somebody a little bit.

HI Joan!
Thee are lots of us who don't fall asleep very easily. These are good tips! Would anyone else share ways that they fall asleep easier?

Great post!

I like to do alphabet games. Try to think of an animal, plant, or whatever starting with each letter, with slow deep breaths between each letter. I've found that focusing on finding a specific thing (a food that starts with the letter J, for example) helps block out the random noise in my head.
